Police: Car crash into building was attempted suicide

By Lauren Pack

HAMILTON —

A car-building crash this morning in Hamilton was apparently a suicide attempt, according to police.

The vehicle traveling south on Ohio 4 this morning went off the road about 7:15 a.m. and crashed into Hyde’s Drive-In at 2030 Fairgrove Ave., according to Hamilton police.

The male driver, who was alert and talking with emergency responders, was transported from the scene to an area hospital. The man told officers he had been depressed and was trying to hurt himself, according to Detective Richard Burkhardt.

The business has not been open for months. Police said the man will face traffic charges.
