FRANKLIN —

Catholic high school students within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati are invited to attend the archdiocese’s first-ever High School Youth Rally.

The eight-hour program, “All Things New,” will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. March 9 at Bishop Fenwick High School, 4855 Ohio 122, Franklin.

The rally is for students in grades nine through 12, and includes keynotes by national speakers ValLimar Jansen and Chris Padgett, workshops, live music, mass, reconciliation, exposition, prayer and worship.

“We know from research that events where a young person can have a larger experience of church can be transforming,” said Bob Wurzelbacher, associate director of youth and young adult ministry for the archdiocese. “The focus of the rally is living the Christian life. If we live outworldly the faith we profess, it will actually change the world.”

Wurzelbacher said the all-day rally is also an opportunity to increase awareness of the National Catholic Youth Conference being held in November in Indianapolis, Ind.

Wurzelbacher said he anticipates about 500 students from the archdiocese at the rally. Pre-registration is required by calling Bob Wurzelbacher at 513-421-3131, ext. 2742 or visiting online at www.catholiccincinnati.org/all-things-new.

The cost is $25 and includes a boxed dinner. Bishop Fenwick High School was chosen to house the first High School Youth Rally because of its central location and accessibility within the archdiocese.

The keynotes speakers, Jansen and Padgett, are both known for inspirational talks, missions and concerts.

As well as being a singer, composer and recording artist, Jansen is also an experienced college professor and workshop presenter at conferences across the United States and abroad, according to the diocese.

Padgett — a songwriter and worship leader — has given talks across the world. Using the mediums of music and humor, Padgett communicates the message of Christ’s love and forgiveness in a way that makes a difference, according to the diocese.
