A Hanover Twp. man arrested after arranging to turn over grenades to undercover police officers last fall is slated to be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
Jeffrey Fellman, 45, pleaded guilty to a bill of information on Nov. 28 on one count of unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, a fifth-degree felony. A second count was dropped in exchange for the guilty plea. Fellman faces a possible 12-month prison term and up to a $2,500 fine when he is sentenced by Judge Michael J. Sage. However, a prison term is not mandatory, according to court documents.
Fellman has been free on his own recognizance since Dec. 20.
Fellman contacted Hamilton police Oct. 30 and offered to exchange two hand grenades in exchange for having a woman released from her probation. Police said the exchange was to be at the old Golden Corral restaurant, 1532 Main St.

Police also said Fellman never made any threats or claimed to have made the explosive devices. A specialist with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad dismantled the two grenades and rendered them safe.
A search warrant was later obtained for Fellman’s residence at 2463 Hamilton Richmond Road. Multiple IED-type devices were found in the home by police, Butler County Sheriff’s deputies and federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents. The devices included modified grenades, a box of PVC pipe bombs and other bomb-making components.
Grimes also said he was aware of an affidavit signed by Fellman’s mother that said the explosive devices were made by his father.
During the search of the residence, law enforcement officers found:
