New Florida-based craft beer coming to Cincy, Oxford markets

Doral, Florida-based M.I.A. Beer Company has tapped southwest Ohio as its first market outside of the Sunshine State.

The brewery will partner with Blue Ash-based Cavalier Distributing, which also distributes beer in Florida, to make its beers available in the Cincinnati, Oxford and Dayton markets starting next Monday, according to a release issued by both companies.

Cavalier will distribute draft and package versions of M.I.A.’s flagship beers, including Miami Weiss Hefeweizen, Mega Mix Pale Ale and Tourist Trappe Belgian Tripel, as well as seasonal and limited releases.

“We have many Ohio vacationers who have discovered us, and now, they can enjoy a little taste of vacation at home,” said Eddie Leon, co-owner of M.I.A. Beer Company.

Cavalier Distributing distributes beer, spirits and other craft beverages in Florida, Indiana and Ohio. It employs more than 380 employees throughout the three states, including 85 in its Blue Ash office, according to spokeswoman Amy Browns Taylor.

M.I.A., based in the Miami area, was founded in 2015. The company's brewmaster, Michael Demetrus, is formerly of Finch's Beer Company in Chicago. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/MIAbeerco.
