While some malls were packed for Black Friday, with lines snaking around the buildings before doors opened, one mall looked deserted before the big sales started.

And like many television stations, a reporter was sent out to cover the big shopping news.

Joshua Short said in his live shot that he was excited to be out for his first Black Friday assignment. That was until he got to the University Park Mall and no one was there lined up for bargains, WNDU reported.

He went on a mini-rant that he got up early to cover the news and crowds, but there were no crowds to be had. At one point he left the end of the liveshot without warning after the anchor told him he might be on the wrong side of the mall.
