The number of promoted apps, or ads for Windows applications, will double from the current five tiles to 10, Engadget reported.

The ads will be links to apps in the Windows Store. They will appear in the Start menu.

What's being called the Anniversary Update will also include Windows Ink and an upgrade for Cortana.

Currently, upgrading to Windows 10 is free, but in a few months, the free period will end and users will have to pay $119 for the upgrade.

The Anniversary Update will be pushed out in July, The Verge reported.
