Secretary of State John Kerry has logged more than 1.3 million miles during his tenure, and this week he set another traveling record.

Kerry is visiting Antarctica, where he plans to witness some of the greatest effects of climate change in person.

Kerry is now the first secretary of state to visit all seven continents and the most senior U.S. official ever to do so. According to the U.S. Department of State, he has spent the equivalent of 118 days in the air while traveling to 90 countries.
After visiting Antarctica, Kerry will fly to Marrakesh, Morocco, for the next round of climate negotiations. Combating climate change has been a key theme during Kerry’s trip.
