5 things to know about early voting

Five things to know if you want to vote early:

1. Two ways to vote: Election Day is Nov. 8 but you can vote absentee by mail or in person starting at 8 a.m. this Wednesday.

2. Still time to register: If you want to vote you have to be registered. Do that by Tuesday or you can't vote.

3. Weekend hours available: You can vote early in person the two weekends before Election Day and on weekday evenings starting Oct. 24.

4. Where to go: In person early voting occurs at your county board of election. Election officials will take voting materials to people in nursing homes and hospitals.

5. Make your vote count: If you want your vote to count be sure you follow all the directions to the letter on your absentee ballot.
