Restaurant unveils wacky burgers inspired by presidential candidates

An Iowa burger joint is taking advantage of caucus fever by whipping up custom burgers to represent the contenders vying for the 2016 presidential nomination.

In the week leading up to Monday’s caucus, Zombie Burger has unveiled a new burger daily that is inspired by a presidential candidate. The Trump burger featured a parmesan crisp that is supposed to represent Trump’s often-mocked hair style.

The restaurant did not create a burger for Ben Carson; instead, the restaurant created tacos, saying on Twitter, “Fact check: we made tacos. We have no experience making tacos; but if a guy with no political background can be president, we can make tacos.”

Zombie Burger's executive chef Tom McKern told The Des Moines Register he wanted to play off the national attention Iowa is receiving leading up to the caucus.
