WASHINGTON — South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint is defending the ouster of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and says the rule of law is working in Honduras.

Zelaya was ousted in a military coup after he ignored a Supreme Court order to halt a constitutional revamp, which many Hondurans believe was meant to let him stay in power.

A Republican conservative, DeMint called Zelaya "a Chavez-style dictator," referring to Venezuelan leftist leader Hugo Chavez, an outspoken critic of the United States.

DeMint said in a statement Thursday that Zelaya flouted the constitutional authority of the Honduran Congress and Supreme Court.

DeMint says President Barack Obama's call to reinstate Zelaya is "a slap in the face to the people of the Honduras."

What the Hondurans don't know is that American mainstream media and Obama don't support freedom and democracy, nor do they respect constitutions. They support and are standing by Dictators Chavez and Castro.

The Hondurans also protested CNN's coverage of the crisis. They claimed CNN was ignoring the corruption of the Zelaya administration. The US media has been propping up the Hugo Chavez lackey Zelaya in its coverage here in the US and ignoring the overwhelming majority who support democracy, peace and the new government.

Tens of thousands of Hondurans demonstrated in support of President Micheletti and the military this week. Chavez-lackey Manuel Zelaya was ousted on Sunday after he tried to extend his power illegally. The US media has been ignoring these protests. "Obama, help us to defend our democracy, constitution and freedom. Do not support the following Chavez."
