Narcan used on Cincinnati VA Hospital officer after contact with drugs

UPDATE @ 4:21 p.m.

An officer with Veterans Administration is in good condition Tuesday afternoon following suspected exposure to opioids.

The hospital released limited information about the incident but said the officer received Narcan out of caution and is being monitored at the hospital.

The incident happened during a death investigation in which a veteran had been found unresponsive around 9:30 a.m. at the hospital. The veteran was not able to be revived, reports WCPO-TV.

An investigation is ongoing.

An officer at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center had to be treated with Narcan after reported exposure to drugs, according to our news partners at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.
