Middletown man wanted in several crimes flees court

Middletown police are asking for help in locating a man who skipped out on court Wednesday and is charged with several drug violations.

On Friday morning, Cameron Robinson, 32, was stopped by police in the area of South University Boulevard and Woodlawn Avenue for tinted plates and dark-tinted windows.

The officers detected an odor of marijuana on Robinson and in the vehicle, according to a police report. A search of Robinson turned up 21 grams of cocaine, and he was arrested for drug abuse.

Robinson was already under indictment on multiple charges of possession of cocaine, trafficking cocaine, possession of heroin and possession of heroin and possession of a rifle and was out on bond at the time of the arrest, according to Lt. Jim Cunningham and court documents.

Robinson was also a back-seat passenger in a car shot multiple times during the hearing morning hours of Jan. 1 at Roosevelt and Wicoff, police said. Teresa Shields, 26, of Middletown, who was the front-seat passenger in the 2010 Audi was killed in the drive-by shooting.
