Middletown fire truck damaged while responding to overdose

A Middletown fire truck responding to a report of an overdose was damaged Friday night.

While attempting to make a U-turn at the intersection of Central Avenue and University Boulevard, the fire truck was struck on the driver’s side by a pick-up truck that was passing on the left, fire officials said.

The front of the fire truck was damaged, but is still in service, according to Middletown Fire Chief Paul Lolli.

He was unsure of the amount of damage done to the truck.
