HAMILTON — The Miami University Department of Nursing is seeking initial review by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for accreditation of it’s baccalaureate of science program in nursing, including the RN-BSN completion option.
The nursing programs are housed on Miami’s regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, said Perry Richardson, spokesman for Miami Hamilton. “Community input is important for the future direction of the nursing program.”
CCNE invites written and signed third party comments from communities of interest that are affected by the department’s programs.
“We invite comments from current students, members of the university community, local and state nursing professional organizations and practicing nurses who work with students,” Richardson said. “Members of the evaluation team consider all comments in their review of the program.”
However, Richardson said, “comments are not shared with the department.”
Comments will be accepted by CCNE until Sept. 10 which is 30 days prior to the accreditation visit.
Comments should be sent to the following address:
Commission on Nursing Education, Attn: Amanda Brownbridge, Accreditation Assistant, One Dupont Circle, NW Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036-1120.
