Lebanon residents have two festivals to choose from this weekend for their entertainment needs.

The monthly Third Friday Festival will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. this Friday at Broadway and Mulberry streets in downtown Lebanon.

“This will be the biggest and best Third Friday Festival yet,” said Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce director Sara Arseneau.

“We’ve been picking up momentum and attendance with each one,” Arseneau said. “I feel like we’re really starting to attract a younger crowd to downtown. The whole point of the festival is having fun.”

This month’s festival will be rocked by Lebanon-native band The Roasters, who promise to bring their own appreciative fan base to the downtown proceedings.

“They are a lively and fun band,” Arseneau said. “Definitely one of the top acts we’ve had.”

The festivities will also include mouth watering food and cool beverages.

Several downtown businesses, particularly the eateries, will remain open late for the festivals, with some places planning to stay open even after the festival’s “official” ending at 11 p.m.

Down the street, St. Francis de Sales will hold its annual festival all weekend.

The festival, which kicks off Friday evening, is intended as a fun-filled way to meet some new friends and have a good time, said the Rev. Bernie Weldishofer , pastor of St. Francis.

The festival takes place on the lawn of St. Francis de Sales church, located at 20 DeSales Ave., just off of North Broadway in Lebanon. Hours for the festival are 5 to 11 p.m. Friday; 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday; and 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Special events will occur each night as well. Friday will feature a live Mariachi band and Zumba dancing. On Saturday a variety of prizes will be available in a live auction, silent auction, and a basket raffle. Visitors will be able to bid on vacation packages, trips to various sporting events, metal working gear, and gift baskets.
