Services set for lifetime Boy Scout who died at 100 years old

Services have been set for a Middletown man who spent most of his life in Boy Scouts.

Everett W. Sherron, 100, died May 26 at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. June 9 at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. June 10 at First United Methodist Church, 120 S. Broad St. with the Rev. John Wagner officiating, with additional visitation prior to the service from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.

Sherron was active in the Boy Scouts for 71 years, serving 61 years with Troop 718 in many positions including Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chairman.

He received many scouting awards, including Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver, Wood Badge, District Award of Merit, and the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow.
