OVI checkpoint planned in the Trotwood area this weekend

Trotwood police in conjunction with the Montgomery County OVI Task Force will conduct an OVI checkpoint in the Trotwood area this weekend.

The exact time and location of the checkpoint will be released on Saturday, in compliance with state law.

“The goals of the sobriety checkpoint are to provide public awareness to the consequences of driving under the influence, reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roadways, reduce the number of alcohol-related traffic crashes, and make the roadways a safer place to travel” Trotwood police said in a media release.

Saturation patrols will also be conducted in the area of the checkpoint. The Montgomery County OVI Task Force said during the months of June and July there will be various hours of additional saturation patrols in the county.
