Police made contact with Stephanie Cornett, 34, of Barnitz Street, and when officers looked inside her windows because one of her children was hitting the glass, she became “somewhat irate” and she was charged with obstructing official business.
Inside the residence, police found garbage, clothing, broken furniture, broken glass, dog feces and other debris that created what they called “unsuitable” and “unsafe” conditions. The mattresses for the children did not have any bedding and appeared to have black stains or mold.
Four children were removed and workers from Butler County Children Services responded and took custody of the four children.
Charges are pending against the children of the father, Christopher Miller, who wasn’t at home when the report was made, police said.
Cornett, who has been released from the City Jail, will have her pre-trial hearing in Middletown Municipal Court next month.
