Monroe makes garage sale, large-item pickup dates permanent

Monroe City Council has approved permanent dates in June for the annual City Wide Garage Sale and the annual Spring Large Item Pickup.

In the past, council has set these dates each year. City Manager William Brock said the city receives calls as early as February asking when the community garage sale and large-item pickup will held.

Brock said it would be convenient if council would establish the first weekend of June of every year for City Wide Garage Sale and the second weekend of the month as the Spring Large Item Pickup.

He said the dates can always be changed in the future by motion of council if necessary.
