Ugh — it’s Monday.

So let us help you rally to take on the week ahead. Here are 4 stories that will brighten your day and lift your spirits.

1. ‘Dancing Trucker’ proves you can be happy just as you are

So a 6-foot-7, 350-pound man starts dancing in downtown Hamilton. No, it’s not the start of a joke.

It’s the start of the inspiring story of John “The Dancing Trucker” Drury.

Showcasing his dance moves at a fevered pitch, Drury says he may not have a typical dancer’s body, but he’s got moves that will bring a smile to your face.

2. These 2 men are changing Middletown one ball field at a time

The abandoned baseball field is a too common sight across our country, where America’s pastime has been pushed aside by soccer fields, video games and social media.

But thanks to the efforts of two men, the financial support of the City of Middletown, and generous contributions from the business community, Middletown is taking a Babe Ruth swing toward revitalizing its once proud baseball history.

3. Be thankful for the little things — like shiny, clean floors

At first, Butler Tech teachers thought shyness may be the reason high school junior Dependra Khatiwoda was staring at the school building’s floors.

They couldn’t be more wrong. It’s gratitude and memories of cow feces that often turn the 16-year-old Dependra’s gaze downward.

“The floor here is beautiful. You don’t have to put cow dung on it every week,” says a smiling Dependra. “It’s a world of difference.”

4. Oxford residents, Miami students turn trash into treasures

ShareFest started in 2005 as an effort to keep furniture, clothing and food not needed by departing Miami University students out of local landfills.

Since then, it has evolved and its efforts benefit several groups throughout the region.

A record-breaking 87 tons of donations were collected this year.
