Middletown and Hamilton road closures to affect traffic

Hamilton and Middletown city officials have announced street closures for the upcoming week due to repair projects.

In Hamilton, water main replacement projects will cause several locations to have lane restrictions beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, July 24 until 6 p.m. Friday, July 28.

Each day, North Erie Boulevard between Dayton Street and Elm Street, South Front Street between Pershing Avenue and Chestnut Street and River Road between Laurel Avenue and St. Clair Avenue will be affected.

Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. The lane restrictions are necessary to safely perform the restoration as part of the water main replacement projects according to the city.

Work will be conducted weather permitting and “No Parking” signs and detours will be posted. Traffic control will be in place at the time of restriction.

In Middletown, several streets will be closed to through traffic for the week beginning Monday, July 24.

Carolina Street will be closed to through traffic from Roosevelt (SR-122) to Burbank. This includes all cross street intersections. It is recommended that travelers utilize either Highland or Brentwood as detours.

Caprice from Cincinnati-Dayton to El Camino will also be closed. Public Works officials say it is recommended that motorists use utilize Hendrickson Road to Audubon Drive as a detour.

The El Camino Cul-de-sac to city limits will be affected, and motorists are being asked to Hendrickson Road to Audubon Drive as a detour.

Ocala to El Camino to the city limits is going to be closed. Hendrickson Road to Audubon Drive is once again a recommended detour. All of Catalina will be closed as well.

Local traffic will be maintained but residents should expect some delays.
