Hamilton streets to close for IceFest

Some downtown Hamilton streets will close this week in preparation for the IceFest event that will happen Friday evening and Saturday.

The free event, which is presented every two years and benefits the city of sculpture organization, happens from 4-10 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Hamilton.

Here are the details:

At 9 a.m. Thursday, 2nd Street will close between High and Court streets.
At 7 a.m. Friday, 3rd Street will close between High and Court streets. In addition, no parking will be allowed in Journal-News Square, and there will be no parking on the south side of High Street.
At 4 p.m. Friday, Veterans Street will be closed between High and Court streets. Veterans Street is the narrow street between the county/city Government Services Building and the Kirsch building, formerly the 5/3 building.
