Gingerbread house competition returns to Warren County

The Warren County Historical Society will host its third annual gingerbread house display and competition as part of its 2016 holiday season.

The contest is open to both professional and non-professional chefs, children and adults as well as groups. Entry forms and a complete list of guidelines are available at www.wchsmuseum.org.

All gingerbread creations must be delivered to the Warren County History Center by 4 p.m. Nov. 22. A completed entry form must accompany each gingerbread house. Each entrant will receive a coupon for a free sundae at the Village Parlor in Lebanon.

Entries fees benefit the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Warren and Clinton Counties. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second-, and third-place winners.

The first 50 gingerbread houses entered in the competition will be on display at the Warren County History Center, 105 S. Broadway, Lebanon on Nov. 25-27. The display will be free and open to the general public that weekend. The Warren County History Center is always free to Warren County residents and Warren County Historical Society members.

Twelve of the winning entries will be showcased at Glendower for the 2016 Christmas at Glendower celebration beginning Dec. 3. The 12 winners will receive free passes to Christmas at Glendower for themselves and six friends. Glendower is open each Friday, Saturday and Sunday in December, except Christmas Day, from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission to Christmas at Glendower is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 65 and over and $4 for students under 18.
