Experts suggest December normally means lower gas prices across the country.

“Prices at the pump generally fall in December,” Gregg Laskoski, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy said. “Over the past four years the average decline from Dec. 1 to Dec. 31 has been 15 cents per gallon and I’d have to think most of us would be pretty happy with that.”

According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Dayton is $1.98, with prices stable. The cheapest gas, as of Monday morning, is $1.89 at the Valero at South Smithville Road and Huffman Avenue in Dayton.
