Crashed semi cleared, Ohio 73 to I-75 N ramp in Springboro reopens

UPDATE @ 8:55 p.m.: The overturned semitrailer has been cleared and the ramp from Ohio 73 to I-75 North in Springboro was reopened at 8:19 p.m., a police/fire dispatcher said.

UPDATE @ 5:14 p.m.: The driver of the semitrailer that overturned on the ramp from Ohio 73 to I-75 North in Springboro told fire/rescue crews he sneezed and lost control of the rig, but Springboro police say he'll likely be charged with failure to control and possibly with speeding.

The trailer is full of large canisters of under body coating used on automobiles and trucks. There is no environmental hazard, according to fire crews on scene. They were checking the payload to make sure there are no leaks or spills.

The liquid, in large canisters, is being off-loaded through the top of the trailer. Sugarcreek Twp. fire crews appear to have cut a hole in the trailer to get at the canisters.

According to fire officials, the driver told them he had just left a plant in Springboro after having loaded up the trailer with the under body coating.

The ramp will remain closed until further notice, according to police.
