1,000 flags bring international flair to Voice of America park

One-thousand flags were erected Thursday around the lake at Voice of America Park in West Chester Twp. as part of Miami University Regionals’ Lake of Nations cultural diversity event.

“We just want to let everybody know that West Chester and the regional campuses we’re really open to international students,” said Jerry Martin from Miami Regionals’ ELC program.

Students and faculty from Miami University’s English Language Center handed out goodies and talked with visitors at the West Chester Twp. park.

“The beautiful thing is we’re out putting up the flags and we’re meeting people from these countries,” Martin said.
