Wright-Patterson will launch a base wide exercise Monday that could cause traffic back-ups at some gateways, according to authorities.
The last scheduled exercise of the year will role play scenarios that could involve air piracy and a pandemic, among other situations, Wright-Patterson said.
Base personnel should react as if a scenario is real during the training, said spokesman Bryan Ripple.
The base may impose additional security measures and temporarily block traffic in some areas, authorities said.
They may may activate a “giant voice” intercom and an emergency alert system during the week-long exercise, authorities said.
Neighboring communities may hear sirens coming from the base.
