Members of the Carlisle Board of Education Wednesday opted to go with experience in filling a recently vacated seat.
The board met in special session and went into executive session where former board member James Campbell was selected over two other candidates who applied to complete the final six months of David Clay’s term.
Superintendent Larry Hook said the board felt going with a person with school board experience would be the best choice because the term ends Dec. 31.
Other candidates who applied for the seat included Molly McIntosh, one of the bond issue co-chairs; and resident Shawn McAtee.
