This is a big move.

You can now pay for one of Dayton’s favorite pies with plastic.

Marion’s Piazza now accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards.

The local chain was for all intents and purposes one of the few well-known ‘cash-only’ holdouts left in the area.

The shift came at the end of October to give customers options, said Matt Moon manager of Marion’s Shroyer Road location.

He said a lot of customers came to the register not realizing the company did not accept credit cards.

“It just makes it a lot easier,” he said.

The business’ square cut pizza pie is a hometown favorite.

Marion’s was voted ‘Best Pizza’ in our 2012 and 2011 Best of Dayton reader’s choice polls.

The ninth Marion’s location opened in Mason in November.

What do you think? Is it necessary for a restaurant

to accept credit cards to keep its doors open?
