Job fairs happening this week include veterans hiring event

Looking for a job? There are several job fairs happening this week:

1. Board of Developmental Disabilities job fair Wednesday in Fairfield

The Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities is having a career fair for its service providers on Wednesday.

The career fair is to help match people with the BCBDD’s providers, which have job opportunities for in-home personal care, recreation and leisure, job development, job coaching, and nurses.

Wendy Planicka, Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities spokeswoman, said these jobs will help people “find career success and fulfillment while you help people reach their highest level of independence.”

The career fair is set for Sept. 27 at OhioMeansJobs Butler County, 4631 Dixie Highway in Fairfield.

There are two sessions: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.

2. Veterans job fair Thursday in Cincinnati

Veteran-friendly employers, including GardaWorld, Farmers Insurance and Amazon, will be part of a hiring event Sept. 28 in Cincinnati.

The Veterans Job Fair at Great American Ball Park is geared toward veterans, transitioning military personnel, National Guard members, Reserve members and military spouses.
