Wong was the top vote-getter, receiving 32 percent of the vote, and Welch received 31 percent of the vote, according to unofficial from the Butler County Board of Elections.

“It was quite a turbulent race, but I’m very pleased my supporters and residents of West Chester really trust me to continue on,” Wong said.

The incumbent trustees were challenged by Marianne Penska and Joan Powell, who garnered 21 percent and 16 percent of the vote, respectively.
