The “by-appointment-only” boutique is a new endeavor and local extension of Insignare’s online business.
Insignare, a former Procter & Gamble communications manager, said she “loves to empower women to look and feel their best in the boardroom, out on the town or attending special events.”
The new business features women’s vintage and modern clothing and accessories, including the iconic Moschino Bear Dress, a whimsical couture dress with teddy bears as a collar, plus Christian Louboutin Artemis Spike Handbag, Christian Dior vintage “Granville” inspired suit and Charlotte Olympia Kitty Cat flats.
Consultations are conducted by phone prior to each in-store appointment and take 15 minutes to conduct, Insignare said.
“I try to learn what each woman’s roles are and what kind of message they’re trying to convey, and what investment pieces are already in her closet,” she said. “After I have that information, I pull together wardrobe pieces and when she comes in … I have canapes and pink champagne waiting for her. She gets a chance to try on the pieces I pulled out for her and we get to kind of learn together on the journey.”
Insignare, who has lived in West Chester Twp. with her husband since 2007, said the business started out as a hobby while she was at P&G and blossomed into a full-fledged business of its own when she departed from the company in 2012 to take care of the couple’s daughter.
Since then she’s garnered an “amazing clientele” worldwide, including Russia, Canada, England, Australia, Japan, China and Switzerland.
“My clients tend to be women who have arrived,” she said. “They’re women 40-plus and they tend to be corporate executives or financiers, quite a bit of lawyers, entrepreneurs and business owners, as well.”
