Here’s how to feel good about eating COOKIES on Wednesday

Call it cookies for a cause.

All 14 Chick-fil-A restaurants in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, as well as participating Chick-fil-A restaurants in Dayton, Columbus and West Virginia, will donate all proceeds from chocolate chunk cookie sales on Wednesday.

The recipient? A Child’s Hope International, a Cincinnati-based charity supporting orphans and vulnerable children locally and internationally.

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday a single Chocolate Chunk Cookie purchase during the sixth Chick-fil-A Cookies for Orphans fundraiser will provide the funds for four high-protein meals, two-and-a-half gallons of clean water or a pack of medical and food supplies.

The fundraiser has supplied nearly 250,000 high-protein meals and 75,000 gallons of clean drinking water to disadvantaged children worldwide.

Larry Bergeron, founder and executive director of A Child’s Hope International, said there are 143 million orphans in the world.

“They all need life’s essentials, hope and a home,” Bergeron said. “Through this special one-day campaign, our goal is to raise orphan awareness and raise funds to help them.”
