FAIRFIELD — A woman with non-life threatening injuries was transported to Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Tuesday, March 16 following a crash on Ohio 4.

The woman’s name has not yet been released.

Three vehicles were involved, according to police spokesman Lt. Ken Gerold. He said just before 2 p.m. a van was traveling north on the road when an SUV attempted to pull out of a private drive in the 4900 block of Ohio 4.

Gerold said the SUV collided into the center of the van, and the force of the strike made the SUV go back into the parking lot. The SUV then struck the rear of a parked minivan, which was about 30 feet away from the road.

The T-bone strike into the van forced it on its side, Gerold said. No one was in the parked vehicle, he said.

The male driver of the van suffered minor injuries. Gerold wasn’t sure if the driver of the van was treated on the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.
