Student charged with extortion

A 16-year-old Talawanda student has been charged for allegedly threatening and taking large amounts of money from another student multiple times during the last two months, according to police.
The teenager was charged last week with extortion, a third-degree felony, and aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to police.
The 16-year-old allegedly had asked for money from a 17-year-old and threatened physical harm if he did not receive it, according to police.
