LIBERTY TWP. — A school bus with one student aboard was struck by a car, sending both drivers to area hospitals.

The crash occurred just before noon Thursday, Nov. 19, near the intersection of Cincinnati-Dayton and Hamilton-Mason roads, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

The student riding on the bus at the time of the accident was not injured, and was taken back to Liberty Junior High School, said Lakota Local Schools spokeswoman Laura Kursman.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a gray Ford Focus, was not identified by deputies and the driver’s condition was not known.

The bus driver, Patricia Cain of Maineville, was taken to an area hospital at a precaution, and was back at her home later in the afternoon, Kursman said.

No citations have been issued, and the accident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

tom duritsch - i didn't say the the bus driver was at fault and i hope if you work for lakota you live in the district - i understand many lakota employees don't - also if the kid is in 7th or 8th grade (junior high), he's maybe 13 or 14 years old; back when i was younger you had to be 16 to work, maybe that has changed - and tim duritsch i've paid butler county real estate taxes for 30 years, how about you

This was not the fault of this bus driver. By the way JACKBO, This student on the bus is involved in a work-study program and being transported. Before you trash the bussing system, you should get your facts straight. Better yet , JACKBO--Try getting off your *** and do something for your community and see the real world instead bashing the bus system. These drivers earn every buck they make. Get a life JACKBO and walk the walk . NOT talk the talk

Let's not lump all bus drivers in to one category. There are numerous bus drivers with spotless records, who strive to keep their students safe and under control, every business has a few imperfect employees.
Maybe before you throw stones at the bus drivers you should sit in their seat, they earn every penny they make.
To: What the ...., maybe we're tired of dodging you too!

one student from a junior high school riding a bus at noon - what is up with that - junior high schools are for a full day 7:30 to 3 or there about, what is one student doing on a school bus at noon - busing students should be cut back and if this situation isn't a perfect example then i don't know what is - take care

Sorry - What the.....

Cutting bussing is blackmail tactics to get more money ... according to Uncle Andy and buddies. We have to make our cuts in areas that actually make a difference in our student's educations.
