FAIRFIELD — The driver of the semi tractor-trailer that overturned Tuesday morning, Nov. 24, has been cited for failure to control, police said.
The driver, who’s name was not available early Tuesday afternoon, was cited for failing to maintain the control of his vehicle while attempting at about 7:20 a.m. to make a left-hand turn from southbound Dixie Highway onto Muhlhauser Road, said Fairfield police Sgt. Greg Valandingham.
Just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday the accident scene was cleared by police.
Why the semi overturned, Valandingham said is not yet clear. The sergeant was uncertain of the vehicle’s destination but said it was carrying powder concrete mix.
Valandingham said the semi accident caused traffic congestion about four hours.
“We shut all the roads down just a couple of different times when we had the truck turned over, but other than that there were just a couple of lane closures,” Valandingham said.
The truck was upright around 10:30, he said. No one was injured in the accident, Valandingham said.
