LEBANON — Residents of Warren and Butler counties are being asked to line the route today, Sept. 9, of the funeral procession for Army Sgt. James C. Robinson.
The salute and farewell is being organized by the Thank You Foundation, which was founded in 2006 by Lebanon resident John Guinn.
“We want people to line the route with yellow ribbons, flags and themselves to pay respects to Jim,” Guinn said.
The procession will leave the old Lemon-Monroe High School after the memorial that begins at 10 a.m. and proceed up Cincinnati-Dayton Road/Dixie Highway to Riley Boulevard in Franklin; it will then head east on Ohio 73. The procession will then head south on Main Street in Springboro, then west on Lower Springboro Road to the Springboro Cemetery, Guinn said.
Guinn said that he last saw Robinson while on leave when they had dinner.
Robinson, a 2001 graduate of the old Lemon-Monroe High School, died Aug. 28 in the Bermal district in the Patika province in Afghanistan when his unit was hit with indirect fire, according to the U.S. Defense Department.
Memorial contributions are suggested to The Thank You Foundation, P.O. Box 899, Lebanon, OH 45036.
