HAMILTON — Residents should be aware of letters from a water service insurance company whose policies may not cover required work when replacing a pipe from the curb to the meter.

Jim Collins, Hamilton director of gas and water, said in a news release late Thursday, Nov. 5, that city water customers are receiving letters from Home Services USA, offering water service insurance.

Collins said residents need to review the service agreement and exclusions to what’s being offered on Home Service's Web site, hsusacorp.com.

Home Services USA may not cover the renewal of an entire service from curb-to-meter when the service is lead, as required by the Envirnonmental Protection Agency, Collins said.

Additional restoration of driveways, pathways, decks, trees or lawns are also not included, Collins said.

For more information, call the city’s gas and water engineering department at (513) 785-7206.
