MIDDLETOWN — Snow rumored to be hitting the region Sunday will likely be negated by temperatures into the upper 50s, according to forecasters.
Andrew Snyder, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Wilmington branch, said a possibility exists of snow mixing in with rains forecast for Sunday evening, but warm temperatures should eliminate any chance of accumulation.
“We’ll have a chance of rain this weekend, then another break of warmer temperatures going into next week,” Snyder said.
Temperatures are expected to hover around the mid to high 60s today, March 19, and Saturday. Snyder said to expect a 30 percent chance of rain showers Saturday afternoon, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation Sunday.
The area should see highs in the mid 40s Monday, according to Snyder, with temperatures climbing back to the mid 60s by next Wednesday.
