HAMILTON — A new play about family ties hits the stage Tuesday at Miami University Hamilton.
The play, The Legacy, is about two families — one rich, the other poor — which come together after a tragedy and after the matriarch of one of the families reveals a secret she’s been hiding for years.
Written, produced, and directed by Christian Johnson, 22, the play takes audience members on a journey through the lives of the De-Milles and the Walkers as they discover that there are more ties that bind them than divide them.
“They learn that every family has its secrets and that at the end of the day you can’t choose your family members,” Johnson said.
The play features a cast of 24, including 11 actors and 13 dancers.
The Legacy will be on stage for two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at MUH in the Parrish Auditorium.
The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children.
