LIBERTY TWP. —The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Cincinnati office is investigating the fall of a construction worker from scaffolding onto Interstate 75 late Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 26, according to Dick Gilgrist, OSHA area director.

A medical helicopter transported the Edmond Gourdon, 42, of Covington, La., to University Hospital in Cincinnati after he fell from the Kyle Station Road bridge onto the highway at 3:30 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol officials said.

Gourdon is in critical condition today, Aug. 27, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

According to the patrol, Gourdon was standing on scaffolding underneath the bridge when he fell, landing in the construction zone.
