No one harmed after fire at home on Ohio 4

MONROE — Monroe and Middletown firefighters extinguished a house fire in the 6800 block of Ohio 4 around 3:30 p.m. today, July 6.

The call came in to dispatchers around 3:15 p.m. Monroe Fire Chief Mark Neu said the fire started in clothing in the basement of the home. People were inside at the time but managed to escape unharmed. The fire was out around 4 p.m.

There was no visible fire damage outside, witnesses said. Damages are estimated at about $15,000.
