A Hamilton man was taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning, June 9, by medical helicopter after his truck struck a ditch and concrete culvert, then flipped, police said.
Brian Wallace, 34, of Hamilton, was driving his Chevy S-10 west on Tylersville Road just east of Seward Road in Fairfield Twp. when just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday it went off the right side of the road striking a ditch and driveway.
The vehicle then crossed a driveway at 4100 Tylersville, hitting a concrete culvert and coming to rest on its top, according to police.
Wallace was flown to University Hospital in Cincinnati. Hospital officials report he is in fair condition Wednesday morning. Officer Brandon McCroskey reported Wallace suffered a leg injury and “some other serious injuries.”
According to a witness statement, Kathleen Clayborn and Steven Byrd drove by the accident scene when they noticed the flipped truck in a cloud of dirt. They turned around and noticed Wallace hanging out of the truck, wiggling to get out.
“He got out and rolled in (the) ditch,” according to Clayborn’s statement. “I kept talking to him to see if we could contact someone for him. Kept telling him not to move.”
McCroskey said the accident is still under investigation and charges have not been determined.
