TRENTON — An injured Edgewood High School football player was flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center on Friday morning, Aug. 7.
The teen, whose name was not released, suffered an apparent neck injury during a drill at practice at Edgewood High School. He was wearing a neck brace when he was being treated at the scene as concerned teammates crowded around him.
He was flown by CareFlight medical helicopter.
John Thomas, Edgewood’s director of communications, said Friday afternoon that CAT scans and X-rays were taken, and neither found any problems.
Thomas refused to release the teen’s name, citing school policy.
Coach Steve Channell said he visited the teen at his parents’ Friday night, and that he was doing fine.
Staff Writers John Bombatch and Danielle Wilson contributed to this report.
