Attention Meijer shoppers: You could be saving more money at the store; no coupon clipping required.

For those who want to save but aren’t coupon savvy, Meijer has launched a new program to help you save at the store with a little help from your cell phone. The program is called Meijer MPerks.

To activate an account, you must have a cell phone that can receive text messages, and standard rates apply. A confirmation text will be sent to your phone to setup the account. If you want to opt out of the program, text STOP to 634537.

Sign up or log in to MPerks at meijer.com, and click on the MPerks link in the left sidebar under “What’s New.” From there, you can see the various coupons available that can be loaded directly to your phone.

What coupons are available will vary by ZIP code. A hot deal available for this area included $2 off any order of $5 or more.

To save even more money, you can stack coupons — or use more than one coupon per item — by using paper coupons with the MPerks coupons.

Want even more savings? Opt in at meijer.com for electronic messaging on sales and promotions to receive news on exclusive deals outside the Sunday circular.

Remember when shopping at Meijer that stores will only double two identical coupons per item up to $1. This means if you have three 50-cent coupons off bread, only two coupons will be doubled to $1 and the remaining coupon will be worth 50 cents off your order.
