HAMILTON — Galaxy CDs, 94 N. Brookwood Ave., will close its doors as a record store by month’s end and become a full-time venue that supports and fosters the growth of local musicians, artists, and writers, according to a statement on its website.

Over the course of the next few months The Galaxy, in cooperation with The Lonely House and Migrate Productions, will partner with local schools, charities, and various organizations to set up weekly, monthly, and annual events.

Art shows, songwriting lessons and clinics, writer’s clinics and readings, open-mics, and other various educational activities will be offered.

The Galaxy will continue to host concerts with local bands, as well as regional and national acts.
