HAMILTON — Whether it’s proof of paranormal activity, Halloween crafts, a ghostly tour of a historic neighborhood or a parade of zombies, Hamilton has several spooky destinations this month.

Take a guided, lantern-led stroll through one of Hamilton’s oldest neighborhoods on Oct. 15 at the ninth annual Ghost Walk of Dayton Lane. Starting at 7 p.m., tours of the nationally registered historic district will depart from the Wolf Gazebo in the 900 block of Campbell Avenue. A reception will be held inside one of the homes and readings will be offered (for a fee) by spiritual consultant Victor Paruta. Tickets are $20 and are available at Nye Family Vision Center, 712 Dayton St. For more information, contact Thomas Nye at (513) 887-1100 or visit

Two events are scheduled for Oct. 22. According to the Facebook page of the third annual Hamilton Zombie Walk, 250 people have said they’re attending. The event will start with a display of zombie artwork from local artists before the walk, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. on High Street in the downtown area. The art exhibit is open to anyone who wants to submit a piece.

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park, 1763 Hamilton-Cleves Road, is planning “Halloween on the Hill” from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22. A ghost- and scarecrow-making contest is planned and creations will be displayed throughout the park. Visitors will be able to take a hayride around the park and enjoy Halloween-themed refreshments. A best costume contest and pumpkin carving are also part of the itinerary.

Lastly, on Sundays, Ryan’s Tavern, 241 High St., has scheduled three-hour tours from 7 to 10 p.m. with TriOps Investigators as they use equipment to record paranormal activity in the refurbished historic building. The event includes a sandwich buffet for $25 (presale only).
