Free H1N1 vaccines still available

Hot Topics

Staff Report 3:35 PM Friday, January 8, 2010

Free H1N1 flu vaccines are available to residents by appointment Thursday, Jan. 14.

The Butler County Health Department says a vaccination clinic will be open Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. It will be at the department’s office, 301 S. Third St., Hamilton.

The clinic will treat dozens of residents for free. But only by appointment. Call the health department at (513) 863-1770 to schedule an appointment.

Health department officials say there will likely be more clinics for H1N1, also known as swine flu, this winter, though none are currently scheduled.

I want to thank the BCHD for all the hard work that is being put into this madness. I see that other places are charging for the vaccine. Which that is to pay for the admistration fee for the person giving you the vaccine. But If you go to the BCHD to get the vaccine is free. The Clinics are handled and organized very well.. So for the people that are being angry about the way the clinics are then go pay for it then.

They are allowed to charge for the administration and that's what doctors offices will do. They are NOT charging for the vaccine itself, but the administration, which they are allowed to do.

These shots are not "free." Nothing is "free" when offered by the government. How do you think the government came by the funds to buy these shots? They stole that money from me on payday. That's bloody how. I'm sick and tired of having to pay to always pick up the tab for lowlifes, only to have the government take care of them and call it "free." Go take a look at the 40% or so of the paychecks of decent people which disappear every other Friday, and then tell me how "free" the shots are.

Our kids got the "free vaccine" through school and the health board. Our insurance got hit to pay. The other funny thing is it was a lot more than what Walgreens was charging the other day. Insurance companys and drug companies continue to get rich while our premiums go up. Remember, nothing is ever free, you will pay in the end.
Free isn't really free
