HAMILTON — Police vice and SWAT officers Friday executed a pair of search warrants at two residences, netting cash, drugs and arresting several people on bench warrants.
In the first instance, officers searched a residence in the 400 block of Knightsbridge Drive about 8:38 a.m. Police said they recovered 280 grams - about 10 ounces - of heroin and $4,000 in cash.
Police arrested Edward Fox, 22, of Hamilton, on charges of possession of drugs/heroin and trafficking in drugs/heroin, both first-degree felonies; possession of drugs/cocaine, a fourth-degree felony; drug paraphernalia, a first-degree misdemeanor; and possession of marijuana, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Police said these charges qualify Fox as a major drug offender.
Also arrested was Abralem Curtis, 21, of Hamilton, for permitting drug abuse, a first-degree misdemeanor.
At 10:20 a.m., SWAT and vice officers conducted a second search warrant in the 600 block of Buckeye Street, where authorities said a small amount of heroin, crack and cash were recovered.
Police arrested Daryl Gaines Jr., 27, of Cincinnati, for possession of drugs/heroin, a fifth-degree felony; and a contempt of court bench warrant from Hamilton Municipal Court.
Toriano Ross, 22, of Hamilton, was arrested for obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor, and eight outstanding bench warrants from Hamilton Municipal Court.
Tim Lysaght, 46, of Hamilton, was also arrested for possession of drugs/crack, a fifth-degree felony.
Ross is scheduled to appear Monday in Hamilton Municipal Court; Fox is scheduled to appear on Tuesday; and Gaines, Lysaght and Curtis are scheduled to appear on Feb. 10, authorities said.
As of Friday afternoon, Curtis and Lysaght are free on bond while the other three are being held in the Butler County Jail.
Officer Kristy Collins, police spokeswoman, said the SWAT team will back up vice officers executing search warrants depending on the criminal histories of the people being sought.
